Operations Specialist

Operations Specialist

Location: Westminster or Carlsbad
Reports To: Operations Supervisor / Manager on Duty
Primary Focus: Daily rink support, guest service, cleanliness, skate guard, scorekeeping, maintenance support, and department assistance.

Position Summary

The Operations Specialist supports daily rink operations and may assist in several areas, including guest service, skate rental, box office, snack bar, pro shop, skate guard, scorekeeping, cleaning, maintenance, and event support. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with box office, skate rental, guest service, and general rink support.

  • Perform cleaning, restocking, setup, breakdown, and light maintenance tasks.

  • Serve as skate guard, scorekeeper, or event support when assigned.

  • Support public sessions, leagues, tournaments, birthday parties, and special events.

  • Follow safety procedures and report facility issues to supervisors.

  • Assist other departments as needed based on shift needs.

Qualifications
  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Dependable, flexible, and willing to learn multiple roles.

  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Zamboni Technician / Operations Specialist

Location: Westminster or Carlsbad
Reports To: Facility Coordinator / Manager
Primary Focus: Ice resurfacing, ice quality, equipment care, facility maintenance, and operations support.

Position Summary

The Zamboni Technician / Operations Specialist supports the quality of the ice surface, operates resurfacing equipment, performs basic maintenance, assists with repairs, and supports general rink operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Zamboni and ice maintenance equipment safely and professionally.

  • Support consistent ice quality through resurfacing, edging, flooding, and related tasks.

  • Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.

  • Assist with building repairs, setup, breakdown, and general facility tasks.

  • Communicate ice, equipment, or facility concerns to management.

  • Support guest service and daily operations when needed.

Qualifications
  • Zamboni or ice maintenance experience preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.

  • Strong attention to detail and safety.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and events.

Zamboni Technician/Operations Specialist

Position Summary: The Zamboni Technician handles supporting the quality of the ice surface, equipment maintenance, and building repairs. This role also involves guest services, supporting operations and other tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).

Skating Academy Coordinator

Position Summary

The Figure Skating Coordinator oversees figure skating programming and supports the growth of Skate Academy and related skating programs. This role serves as a key contact for skating families, coaches, and participants while helping create a welcoming and organized skating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support figure skating programs, classes, events, showcases, and competitions.
  • Serve as a primary contact for skating families and participants.
  • Recruit, support, and help manage coaching staff.
  • Coordinate with Program Administration on schedules, rosters, registration, and class setup.
  • Work with Marketing to promote skating programs and grassroots participation.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure ice, space, and facility support are properly scheduled.
  • Support beginner pathways and new programming to grow skating participation.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional skating culture.

Qualifications

  • Figure skating coaching, program management, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with families, skaters, coaches, and staff professionally.
  • Passion for figure skating, youth development, and program growth.

Rink Operations Supervisor

Position Summary: The Operations Supervisor manages the daily operations of Ice Realm, including staff supervision, shift management, and ensuring a high-quality guest experience. This role supports the Operations and Facility Coordinator/ Manager in maintaining efficient rink operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage rink staff during assigned shifts.

  • Oversee guest services and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure facility upkeep.

  • Oversee scheduling and shift assignments.

  • Assist in staff training and development.

  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.

  • Experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a recreational facility.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
